Been away. Been away from photosig for some time too. But, the past few days I decided to check up on it. See if anything has changed. Brother! What a clique that site has become. There are obviously only a few that seem to suck all the oxygen out of it. I’m wondering if the site should be called sheenasig or savantsig (an obvious play on the name). To watch the forums, it’s the same ol same ol. Forum posts get down, sheena plucks a new (usually a double entendre type of subject so as to lure in the usual responders) subject to elicit the most replies. It’s like watching a soap opera where the same people are trapped in groundhog day. The savant that does the HDR stuff tries to portray himself as “it’s not about the points” but, take them away from him and you can hear the cries from afar. Others that do HDR are simply ignored by the self-proclaimed deluded guru. They do not get a critique from him. It’s his formula: critique only the lousy photos. Give them a red thumb or, at the most, one green. Get the resulting helpfuls that seem to soothe your non-ego. Main page photos? These are never commented on. Oh, and the forums….people request a critique and like Nancy Drew, he scours the “ratio” of critiques to submissions. See, he fancies himself as The One other siggers should emulate. If it’s “not about the points” as he has spouted ad-nauseam then delete all the photos of doors and houses you have run through Photomatix! Put up or shut up. HDR does one thing well. It takes your eyes off those pesky fundamentals like composition, lighting and adding something to the photo to make it interesting. Any such points made to The One are quickly met with a “art is art” harumph of hot air. As if Leonardo himself were being questioned.
Oh, it’s so predictable. The soap opera analogy is more than correct. After not visiting the site for months, it’s easy to pick up where you left off. Same cast. Same drama.
So, hey, do I have better things to do? Oh yeah. Plenty. But, if this little blog that took all of 5 minutes to do gnaws at the offenders then it’s worth it. sig used to be better. Now it’s a “woman behind the curtain” type of site where one person has become too big for their pajamas and drunk with ego.

Tell me about it! I got kicked off the site for agreeing with you. Sheena is Willis’ Waterloo. It’s become a Dead Site Walking. He seems to under her demonic spell and can’t muster up enough testosterone to rid the site of her. Oh how that would freshen things up there.

I do not know why people bother to got to PhotoSig. It is suppose to be a critique site, and they do not even allow foreign language there. Sheena is rude, and she should not be an administrator. She only likes people that bow to her, but she acts like dictator on the site. She doesn’t care how she treats people, and Willis lets her get away with it. Sadly the site has resorted to malicious ads with popups that have actually caused problems in some computers. My advice is not to go to that site. Photo.net, fotocommunity.com, and so many more are available. The are much more professional, and you do not have to put up with an administrator that is full of hot air. Just my 5 euros. ehehehe

My first clash with Sheena – queen of the posts:

What is the fascination with HDR anyway? Take a static shot of an object and use crayons on it and it becomes “masterful”? Not the kind of place that appreciates true photography. At least not anymore.
“Professional” and PhotoSIG are in conflict with each other. I’d rather spend my money any ANY other photo site than PhotoSIG and I will.

One is a infantile photographer the other is a psychopath administrator. It has been going on for 6 years or more. Same childish behavior just different topics. Sheena and Mike both have some real social issues. I just ran accross a website called sheenasig which explains a lot.
Sad part is Sheena’s is driving away site members except the ones who fawn over her. I am just glad there are so many other quality photo critique places on the Internet these days.

Now the issue of critique ratios is being bitched about again. Everyone bitches and moans about it but, the site refuses to take care of it themselves.

Sheena brings the issue up. She also names names although she deletes anyone else from doing so. Someone suggests enforcing the ratio and immediately has a finger wagged in their face.
Freakin nuts. There are 2 photos on main page that don’t meet the suggested ratio. Sometimes these ratio avoiders photos are locked. Sometimes not. It makes no sense having a non policy in place that is up to siggers to patrol and comment on.
Within days there will be more posts about these supposed ratios and Sheena will play both sides of the fence.
Looks like she’s going through menopause with her recent nasty tone in the posts.
And the site is going down the shitter.

bobo it is very sad she has turned photosig into her own personal website. It really has become sheenasig. Del is no better since he knows what is going on and does nothing to stop it.
It seems he supports he and this out of control behavior like the forum post you linked. I looked at it and he is in there deleting links and telling people to accept what ever Sheena and Del want even if it is not equal for all members.
It is clear to anyone who looks at the site Sheena and Del play favorites and if you get on their bad side you will have hell to pay. Most either leave some get their accounts deleted. The site is in decline and has been for some time. Many have moved on to Flickr or the many other photo websites. Even Sheena has a account on Flickr.
If you follow all the links on sheenasig.com it seem the problems has been brewing for some time with unhappy members. She likes to say the complaining members all have issues when it is clear the common problem is Sheena and Del. Willis is a MIA site owner who does not care about photosig any longer and has allowed Sheena and Del full control as ling as it puts money in his pocket.
All to sad, it could have been the best site for photographer if Willis would have worked at it.

There seems to be ample room in sheena’s pants for del to fit into. I agree, willis is MIA and letting his cash cow be run by, never mind.
Sheena is always making comments that she can’t be everywhere but, she is in every freakin post. There’s a post there not where she touts that she is a “photography teacher”. That about sums it up I guess. I have saved the photo of sheena in the desert. I’d love to post it here and have 25 people or more submit this shot at the same time to photosig. That would be priceless.

She must be having hot flashes of late she is all over the site and out of control. Del is just another in a long line of admins that have come and he to at some point will leave.
The classic forum post is where she sticks her foot to deep in a hole Adam, Dog and gang come running like puppies to deflect the main issue which most often her unfounded rude controlling comments to someone. Then they try to put it back on the person she was attacking. Then she locks the thread.
The all knowing part is a crack up, she is a hair dresser, turned website designer and now a “professional photographer” laughable if it was not so sad. Her photography is mediocre at best. The Vancouver locals find her to be a joke.
I like the picture idea, that would be funny to see how fast it would take her to delete them all. Maybe even Photoshop them into other pictures like painting on walls. Or put them side by side to her profile picture which does show you can make a silk purse of of a sow’s ear.

She and the followers are all pumped up for the Adam and Sheena west coast show. I noticed this week 5 of the main page pictures only rated 7 thumbs. Shows the decline from the days it took 12 or more.

Hello there everybody. I also decided to leave photosig.com beacouse of Sheena, Hitlerlike personality and the way she administrating her previously very good site. That type of persons, like she is, needs medical treatment and if you watch the number of users on her site you will find that photosig is sinking very deep. I hope that someone will remove her from that site and let the site be againg very good.

I’ve seen some pretty infantile behaviors in my seven years on Photosig, and while your’s wasn’t the worst, it was up there in terms of predictable knee-jerk reactions. What was funny was reading all those variations of revenge critiques and their rewrites you kept posting. All of them came through on my email. The sheer lunacy of them had me holding my sides as I laughed.
I was printing black and white works and selling it before you were out of diapers and still not potty trained. Trust me, when I made the assessment of your work I was being gentle.
The entire issue comes down to the fact that you didn’t like being corrected and told you were acting like a fool. So you now try to cover yourself with a vainglorious picture of you as a martyr. It’s not going to work. There’s no glory in acting like a jerk and a pompous twit.
Let’s bring down it to the simple level you might be able to understand; you acted like a spoiled brat and got your butt paddled, and now you’re off sulking like a little baby. I find you amusing in a sad sort of way. Ever consider trying something different, like growing up? It might yield some good benefits in the end.
I hope you did read the response to that crit you left as I did leave some serious words that you seek counseling for the anger and emotional issues that you displayed through that temper tantrum. My best advice is to stay on the meds.

Vadim funny how in a thread called “Are people really this sensitive and defensive in real life?” how they handle comments made that question how the website is administrated. Sheena and Del can not handle the truth in a open forum.
The problem is do to how the website is administrated. That is why they have so many problems with users. Learn to accept it and move on to other sites, that is what most photographers have been doing for some time now.

Gellin I think you are right, the main page was down to 6 thumbs to get there on Sunday. A barometer of site activity. People seem to be getting tired of sheenasig.
Sheena is now posting accusations about some guy named Mark. Changing his bio to try and shame the person. Locking pictures right and left and talking down to people like Ian. His now deleted reply to her seemed to sum Sheena up perfectly.
She is in self destruct mode at this point. Even long time friends of Sheena on Photosig are no longer posting in the forums. But Willis will not do anything unless the money stops coming in to his bank account. The only time he has changes photosig’s site code is to jam in more banner ads.

Usually when a SigWhiner complains about the idiotic “critique ratio” and mentions a name, The Mistress is quick to denounce anyone who calls someone by name. Not anymore. There is a typical thread going on now about the “ratio” right now. The MIstress now posts as her name and as “Greeter”.
Willis seems apathetic about the whole thing. It’s an insult to photographers there now. She locks photos because the person hasn’t critiqued enough but, incredibly, maintains there is no “critique ratio” that is enforced. Maybe that is telling of someone coming unhinged. Contrary and paranoid.
Flickr is my choice anyways. At least nobody is always waving a finger at you and insulting you there. Maybe that’s why they do so well.

I received a email asking me to stop this blog or shut it down. I did not start this blog nor do I have any influence of how it is run. In short this blog belongs to someone else.
This blog and other websites are linked off a factual website I own. Most of the links and websites all share a common view that Sheena Wilkie the head administrator on photosig.com is toxic to the environment of the photosig community.
My deleted photosig account now has a nonfactual semi slanderous bio and link to my website. I believe Sheena Wilkie made the new bio change. Why? I dunno ask her.
Del was the person who deleted my account and knows the real reason. I have email to back it up.
I wanted people to know the truth about this blog’s ownership and the correct information about why my account was deleted on Willis Blackburn website photosig. Why Willis Boyce allows this type of behavior by Sheena on photosig.com his website is up for you to decide.

Fishit it sounds like you have endured a lot based on what I have read on your site. I think your website helped keep Sheena in check for awhile. After your post here and a exchange in the forums between her and Ian, she was civil to people. All good things come to a end. Thanks for trying Fishit, sorry for all the trouble she has caused you.
Past couple days Roberto was making a valid point that quantity of critiques is not a must rule at the site. Sheena started by belittling members calling people silly and other names. Sheena is a poor administrator and has taken most of the fun out of photosig a long time ago.
She tells people there is no one forcing people to write critiques but then administrators lock some peoples picture who do not follow a guideline.
Seems like Willis should either make it a rule or let people critique and post as they see fit. The members can choose who they wish to critique or not. It would be a more fair way of handling the issue.
The Administrators on photosig cause more troubles for members interaction than any other photography website on the internet. I guess it is job security.

Why did you lock, alterated some posts and finally deleted the discussion: “Three conforming critiques per photo submitted” ?
(Take a look here at the deleted discussion and at Sheena’s alterations)
Why did you suspended and then banned the author of that discussion? Which Term of service did he violate?
(“People are banned for repeated, frequent and flagrant violations of the photoSIG Terms of Service”)
Why did you deleted some of his photo?
According to the Terms of services of Photosig, point 8: “every member may delete any photograph or forum discussion that he has submitted at any time”. Why don’t you allow this member to access his photographs???
I think it’s a real shame for you to ban who doesn’t think like you and just would ask the opinion of other members.

It was a better site a some years ago. There is no TOS rule you have to critique. But that does not stop Sheena from forcing people to do something she wants them to do. So many good people have fled photosig because of her actions. Glad I found this blog, I deleted all my pictures some time ago.

Why would anyone waste the time to set up a Facebook page for this blog or sheena? There are already websites a plenty explaining the problem with “The Queen”. Notice she is now spending time on Flickr. We can hope Willis is getting tired of her and will push her out the photosig door soon. Or maybe he will sell the site?

Sell the site? Right now it’s hard to see what value is left.
The code is clever but easily copyable. The original site took him two weeks to write, according to the wikipedia. With the benefit of hindsight I reckon a couple of weeks would be more than enough to replicate it. A forum isn’t difficult to code, a photo album isn’t difficult to code, and uploading files is a doddle. I reckon you’d spend more time on the pretty graphics than on the code.
And an interweb community is about the people more than the clever code. The code is needed to make it functional but if the people aren’t there it doesn’t matter how clever the code is. And when lots of people just wander by to ask a simple question without putting any thought into it themselves (e.g. “what lens should I buy for a Nikon 3D?”) it’s hard to see a value in the community.
So the site has a modest value, the community has a modest value, and the photosig brand is tainted given how many places like this come up through a simple Google search.

Not really, it just proves out that the site is managed in a neglectful shoddy way. Makes the site seem amateur compared to other professionally managed and coded photography websites.
Ex Sigger is right the value of the site diminishes with every passing week as the site fails to maintain itself. The lack of any site improvements for well over 2 years and a shrinking membership has devalued photosig.

Is it just me or is Photosig and artsig both down?
I have had the exact same run ins with the big B … and have very little to do with the site any longer. I have been on the site since version 1 when there was actually critiques and not run by a woman that blatantly has such depression issues that she must belittle others to try and bring them down to her level. Misery loves company … and I am guessing she is the most miserable woman on earth right now ..

Z you seem to be in a ever growing group of people who left photosig because of that lady. I left some time ago 2007 was my last critique. I got tired of her hormonal problems and how she brought that to the website. I saw the site was down and that is the only time anything ever gets fixed. No improvements for over 3 years and featured photographer and featured critique are stuck on one person for days. The forums are entertaining to read. Looks like someone who has been there a long time has left and deleted all pictures. People are whining about losing points.

No, but you did request feedback. And people will “vote” by either
staying with or leaving the site. You say you want critiques, but
by locking photographs, you make it impossible to critique them. You
say you want critiques, but not more than 2 per week on the same
photographer. You say you want critiques, but not if they contain
any political commentary. You say you want critiques, but not if
they are too generous. I love the opportunity to view photographs and
give and receive critiques, but I do not like how frequently I am told
I am “doing it wrong” and I certainly do not like clicking on a
thumbnail and finding it locked. I put up with this for a bit and
when I have my fill, I just stop coming to the site for a while. If
very many others do the same, I can not help but think that the
decreased traffic is not good for your business model. Most of the
posts here are supportive of the current approach, and you have never
given me the impression that you value my feedback, so I will not
expect anything to change, but I do appreciate the opportunity to give
feedback.

Sorry about the “empty thumbs”. I did not even realize that I had
commented on several of your images recently. They were each very
different types of photographs. The photosig software “empties” the
thumbs if you are critiquing one photographer too frequently. I guess
the important thing is the critique process, not the thumbs or points,
but I still find this policy a bit annoying and somewhat

There is an underlying theme from the administration at this site that
there is a “right” and “wrong” way to use the site. I would argue
that the site can and will be something different for every single
user. I understand that your intent is to provide a site for useful
feedback on posted images, but “usefulness” is dependent on the needs
and desires of the user. I probably do not use the site the way you
would like for me to. I try to post more critiques than photos, but
not all of my critiques are particularly helpful. Sometimes I just
really like an image and want to let the photographer know that I do.
Sometimes I do not like the photo, but can not really pin down why or
how to “fix” it. I rarely give thumbs down. People take it as an
insult and I can give a one thumbs up and then tell them what I think
could be better in the image and that still serves the same purpose.
I usually rate critiques on my photos (negative or positive) as
helpful. Once in the past I rated several of Mike Savad’s critiques
of others photos as unhelpful (in my mind rudeness IS unhelful) and
got kicked off the site for a bit. Do we really need all of these
rules? Rules sometimes have unintended consequences. What really is
the harm if some people use the site to “share” images? What really
is the harm if people differ in their definition of “helpful”? I am
becoming more libertarian the older I get. My advice is let the site
breath a bit and tolerate some degree of use other than what is in

I have an ongoing frustration with the administration of this site. I
posted a couple of images for the texture assignment last night. This
morning, I find they have been deleted. I was simply provided an email
with a link to the assignment guidelines. No further explanation. The
following was my reply to that email……. I read the link. I am
assuming that you deleted my images because you feel they did not meet
criteria for the assignment. The link did not add to my understanding
your decision. I will provide some feedback regarding this site and
it’s administation. Statements like “our decisions are not matters for
debate” do not provide users with warm and fuzzy feelings especially
when those users have provided money to the site to help offset
overhead. I have taken long breaks from this site due to frustration
over such issues…… My critiques are not quite long enough, they
are too generous, they are too harsh, I had the audacity to critique
more than a couple of images from a single user in one session. It is
my opinion that this site is being suffocated by too many rules. After
a bit it just becomes too offensive to me and I lose interest in using
the site. For me to take the time to prepare and submit and image only
to find it deleted the next morning does not inspire me to use this
site. If I do take a break, I get a form email suggesting that I am
missed at photosig. When I do come back, I am greeted with the same
excess administrative rules. I really like the interaction between
individuals that this site provides. Please do not ruin it by running

Others have compared Sheena to Hitler. I understand the emotion, but honestly, that is a bit over the top. I think a more light-hearted Harry Potter analogy might be more appropriate. Dolores Umbridge comes to mind. In Order of the Phoenix she is the Professor that gradually takes over Hogworts. More and more “educational decrees” are nailed to the wall further and further restricting the students activity. Just as Hogworts was worse off due to the activities of Umbridge, so is Photosig worse off for the activity of Sheena. Honestly, Umbridge was much more entertaining.
If the worse thing that happens to me this week is Sheena suspending my account at Photosig, I will consider myself to have had a very good week.

She can’t keep out of any discussion. We’re constantly reminded about her “students” that she “teaches”. Remember in grammar school how you had a circle of friends at recess? There was always a kid trying to get into your circle by being annoying and being the loudest so as to garner attention?
Anyone bringing up anything to do with Apple computers she HAS to comment on. We simply must be told what she feels about them and that she has no need for them.
In all, one must lead a very boring life to be at the computer 24/7.
Constantly checking critique ratios (which of course aren’t enforced) and copying and pasting the “welcome to PS but, now you’re being watched and you’d best comply with the non-rules or you’re outta’ here” message.
Looking for any sign of insubordination and relishing the chance to lock a conversation.
Making sure that when another admin (emasculated male) makes a post, she elbows her way into the discussion.
Pathetic really. I never visit the site anymore. Best thing that ever happened to me was seeing the “you are banned” sign one day. It’s a badge of honor IMO.

Yes we know she “teaches” but what she teaches is scary, like basic file format information. Imagine being one of her “students” and being taught the misinformation she is “teaching”. The poor people who really think she knows what she is talking about. If you think about “students” paying good money to get incorrect or incomplete photography lessons.

I’m not sure why you are converting RAW to DNG. I import my wedding raw files into Lightroom. Develop them in Lightroom and then export as jpg. I only use Lightroom to create proofs. I do all my retouching in Photoshop

As far as I am aware the RAW file in its original state has the best archival qualities. I was told this by an Adobe rep and I’ve read it somewhere else as well. I’ll try to dig up a link if I can. In any regard there is no advantage to converting to DNG for me.

Adobe also argues that DNG has the ultimate in archival qualities both because it is a raw format, and it’s an “open” format that will be maintained.
Since it will be maintained as backwards-compatible, it doesn’t suffer the risk that proprietary raw formats (like those from the camera makers) will lose support in future versions of popular software. That is, will Lightroom 10, released in 2017, still support raw files from a Nikon D100, which they haven’t sold since 2006?

Sheena suspended me some time ago. She told me, essentially, that I could come back when I kissed her digital derriere. I shot back a rather pointed response letting her know that was not going to happen. I assumed that I was banned for life. A post here suggested that she was gone and I signed on to photosig with great hope to check it out. Alas she not only was not gone, but was still dauntingly “omni present” and overbearingly controlling as usual. I did discover, however, that my account had been reactivated. My suspicion is that it was automatically reactivated after a certain amount of time. I can not bring myself to imagine that she would ever reverse herself. I decided not to post images or critiques, but I must admit that I still really enjoy the site despite Sheena’s attempts to spoil it. I occaisionally go back and look at images. Today, I posted a critique on a portrait that I really liked. It will be interesting to see if she comes after me, suspends me, deletes my critique etc.
I will keep you all posted. I continue to long for a Sheena-free photosig.

I did not say your son was not old enough to be a photographer.
My four year old granddaughter is an amazing photographer. She has her own camera and has been experimenting successfully with off camera flash. She has her own photo blog and after I finish putting on Andre Gallant’s show in April I’m thinking of making some of her work into a book.
However; a four year old is not capable of managing their own photoSIG account or the responsibilities that go with an account here. While there is no set age in the TOS for which a child can have an account there are many situations that are not outlined in the TOS for which we administrators use common sense and good judgment. This is one of those cases. Thanks for your understanding.

Hi all… after three years og photosigness.. and various fights with Sheena, the Warrior Princess, finally I’ve been kicked.
I was fast enough to delete all my stuff before the kick, so I don’t have to waiy for the account appeareance after ??? weeks.
Maybe later, if you are interested, I will describe the reason of the kick.
By now, I have an idea. It seems that there are no groups on facebook about NaziSig or SheenaSig. I suggest to create a group called
“Hey Willis! All the members of this group would subscribe and pay 100$ per year for a PhotoSIG free from Sheena”

newbanned not sure anyone feels they need to put a effort into posting a group or page on facebook about sheena. everyone who goes to photosig learns quickly who is in charge. some people come here to vent and tell their story why they were banned from the site. sheenasig is still up last time i looked it provides people with the problem of sheena on photosig. the only time willis does anything on the site is when he changes something to stick more paid click advertising. be glad you got kicked out there are some many new places as good or better to learn photography.

Further sign of decline. Picture server is not working and Sheena has abandoned the site for chatting with Adam on IRC. Willis has not fixed it or worked on it for over 24 hours.
Time to go to photo.net or Flickr etc. At least they are working and keep updating their websites. The once good site looks like a old building on it’s last legs. It will never die, just slowly fade away into memories.

I am always polite and very civil with Sheena…it really bugs her. I know she hates to look up new words that express my displeasure with her, my latest one “invection” I used after she sent me an email tirade about how mean I was, this woman has issues and has had them long before photosig.

I just pulled my membership at photosig before having it taken hostage by Sheena et al. I sent the following message to Willis who knows if he will ever receive are take any action.
I have received a number of recent emails from Sheena that are outside of the normal business channels (not at my photosig email box). I ask that Sheena cease from any further correspondence using my personal email address. I believe that in my profile that I have requested my personal email not be used. I even changed my email on my profile but her emails still persist.
In regard to these emails from the aforementioned; throughout my years at this site I have watched Sheena’s character become more like Jim Crow than that of a responsible internet site administrator. She seems to apply her rules as she chooses for some and not for others. I am not alone she seems to have an entire chivy of former members she has wronged who have formed a mutual condemnation page. I know of no other photo site administrator has achieved this infamous distinction.
For this reason I like many other have removed my photos from Photosig and no longer wish to have my thoughts and voice censored either on Photosig or outside of the Photosig venue with threats of expulsion with out due process, reason. Her daggle like comments and contemptuous posturing of threats are unbecoming a site administrator. In short just so Sheena understands I do not wish to be member of any club she is also a member.
I have left my emails on Photosig in their entirety for your review if you choose. With my self respect and dignity in tack I bid you adieu.
No one including Sheena has the right to censor the thoughts of another conceit being. Sheena & Willis can do what ever they want on their site but don’t threaten me with expulsion because you don’t like what I say off of their site.

Stop making such broad general statements about people who you know nothing about. Not all people who delete their photos write fluffy critiques. Deleting one’s photos is COMPLETELY allowed within the TOS and people should stop beating up others who do it. You don’t want to do it don’t, but leave people alone who are using the site within the guidelines, STOP trying to make everyone behave and use the site exactly the way YOU think it should be used. Keep pushing and you’ll be pushing the last user out the door.

“queenie” sounds a little paranoid about criticism. Odd. All about a site that begs for critiques? My, all those caps as if to tout your masculinity.
OTOH, we know all about “queenie” whose very name here should be enough for all to figure out. She regards herself as royalty to which one should genuflect. It’s become a site that is no longer a “site” but a kingdom of this persona in which all visitors/members are her subjects. Kiss up to her (like the regulars do) and you’ll be left alone. Question her authority and you’ll invoke her wrath. Wrath in which objectivity is tossed out the door and things start getting personal.
I’ve no use for the site. It has become a dysfunctional haven for ass-kissers who regard their critiques as the be all. It’s all about the points one acquires although they all howl when told this.
The Queen and her subjects are a sad lot. Groveling. Sniveling. Self-loathing but at the same time, haughty.
It’s best to leave them alone in their own little world. A very small and pathetic little world in which the creator of it has allowed a Nero to run it into the ground.

Once, like many of you have been a member of PhotoSig.
Unfortunately Adminstrator sheena so that bothered me initially, without any explanation of the bases and blocked my account and finally removed them. sheena is a sick person. A raging, vengeful, jealous, and yet this very fierce. I think that without that party was fun and that everyone of us that caused more joy and satisfaction. Who hired her there and why to this day I ask myself this question?

When I first joined I loved the site. Several critiquers were very good and helped me learn.
Then Sheena stepped in. I had posted an image of my son. It was edited to represent how he feels when he is in the midst of one of his bi-polar/schizo episodes. He is 19 and wanted the pic and his story out there. Sheena berated me up, down, left, right. Harassed me endlessly telling me I had no right to post his image, despite me telling her he wanted it and his story posted.
After that she went on to follow my critiques and berated many of them, totally humiliating me at every chance.
I wrote to admin and asked to have my account removed, giving up the money I had put out for a scrip. Sheena got the email and wrote back to me telling me she had no idea why I would take offense at the things she said. I no longer have the email and can’t remember all that she said, I simply replied, “delete my account now”.
She is a power hungry witch and IMO has ruined that site.

There are no rules on photosig except what Sheena decides at any given time meets “The spirit of photosig” a rather pathetic way to administrate a website.
Rather than let people choose if they want to, or who they want to critique she makes the choice for the members. If you do not comply she locks your photos, unless you are one of her suck ups. People to her are not capable of choosing these things.
There is no rule or FAQ that states you much critique three people for ever picture you submit. But that is not in what Sheena calls The spirit of photosig” it is her answer to ever rule of site conduct she breaks herself.
Of course it is what she feels at any given moment or time and the other emasculated administrators just follow along like her past and current minions.
So many high quality photographers have walked away rather than comply with the spirit of photosig on any given day due to the daily changes. Not surprising it has a nickname for the head administrator.

Extortion – Photosig is bell weather for those with no talent run by those with even less talent. Small format photos, if you have a great looking thumb nails post it at Photosig and stroke the administrators and other artistically challenged. Too many other places online that do not have the pathological egos of PS where one can post their photos and express their opinions with out being harassed. There are some people of talent that still post their but their numbers are shrinking and most of those accounts are virtually inactive passive submitters who show their work but do not participate. Before long having an account at PS will be testimony that you are not a serious photographer. I am proud to have had my account locked.

Do you really think people are more concerned with points than seeing their time and effort removed? [ Yes ]
There are a number of experienced photographers writing critiques here who aren’t benefiting from it, but I would hate to lose their experience. [ Has not bothered her before ]
They are here genuinely trying to help people. [ Most left years ago ]

Why? I think that deleting all one’s photos is most often done for spiteful reasons.
But I think that retaliating by banning the user from the site is also spiteful.
I also think that by reacting, we would just be playing the user’s game. The whole point is to provoke a reaction, after all. I would just ignore it

The comments posted on the forum at PS are just swirling the porcelain for the site. Although I do love Sheena reasoning, reminds me of my days of dealing with psyc patients.

Now it is about point trading? People are no longer permitted to critique the pictures based on their own opinions. Can we say obsessive compulsive?

Thanks for writing critiques. When you write 3TU for the people who gave you 3TU it ends up little more point trading.

Got to agree with Sheena on this one, on the other hand that’s the way it has always been at PS. Too many hacks, low format photos tiny photos displayed. Tip do not use PS on your resume.

Why do you think professional photographers in photography website circles call photosig sheenasig?
It is losing value but as long as Willis can make a few bucks off the site he will keep in running. He will just keep jamming the site full of banner ads.
Come to think of it that has been the only major design programing change he has done in the last 7 years.

Since I consider Sheena as inappropriate I suggested to our web master that photosig had inappropriate content. Much to my surprise everyone where I work can no longer reach photoshi t. It is a lot more fun here where we can say what ever we choose to say.

I was banned after a single critique thanking a well established photographer for his edgy contribution (Horst: What comes out, Oct 26, 2011).
When I asked, my ‘behavior and attitude’ was to blame.
Wow. Now I have seen it first hand. PS is sheena’s site and you WILL do everything exactly as she see’s it or be banned.
So much for the creativity of photography *laffs*

Any noticed that the rules have been changed? Now it’s a ‘rule’ that your opinions about models (singled out for some reason) are not important or welcomed.
The few models I have worked with love feedback whether it be about the shot or them which further goes to show just how out of touch that crazy witch is
